An Investigation of the Caddis Fly
Freshman Year - INtroduction Design Studio
Best Freshman Project award winner
In my first studio, we were asked to create a vessel that housed all of the information we collected.
My goal was to not only house information, but allow the user to interact with the box.
My vessel had four main parts; two booklets, a magnifying glass, and a blacklight.
The magnification booklet was designed to work with the magnifying glass. As the user panned the glass left and right get a closer look at the model flies, the corresponding booklet gave them additional information about each.
Similarly, the Life Cycle booklet was intended to be used alongside the black-light. As the user read the booklet, they were instructed to shine the light on the inside cover of the box and illuminate the life cycle path drawn in invisible ink.
