3d Shoe Design
work completed for 3d Development team at deckers Brands
For a summer internship, I was a member of the 3D Development team answering to all Deckers Brands (Ugg, Hoka, Teva, Sanuk, and Koolaburra). Duties included 3D modeling, parametric design, animation, and virtual reality applications.
3D process
At Decker’s, the 3D design process began with transferring design sketches onto lasts in Romans CAD software. This allowed us to extract 3D surfaces for texturing and rendering.
This was my first shoe I created in this work flow. The design sketches were my original designs, and the sole was deigned in Rhino and Grasshopper.
This 3D asset created was now ready for animation and virtual reality.
This was the same shoe animated in Modo.
Detail Renders
These renders were created for the marketing department using the same workflow.
Parametric Design
A large part of my internship was also exploring parametric design work. I used Grasshopper to model and Modo to render these conceptual ideas.
Additional Design
These original shoes I created only to improve my own understanding of the software.
